New York Knicks Optimistic About the 2018-19 Season

One of the NBA’s most storied franchises, the New York Knicks have struggled through several subpar seasons marked by poor front-office management, underperforming stars, and bad luck with injuries. However, a series of offseason moves has given Knicks fans reason for optimism in the NBA’s 2018-2019 season.

Among other major transactions, the Knicks made a head coaching change when they replaced Jeff Hornacek with former Memphis coach David Fizdale, whose experience also includes roles as an assistant coach with Golden State and Miami during their title years. The Knicks also have brought in some new faces for the 2018-2019 season by drafting former Kentucky standout Kevin Knox and signing players with potential, such as Noah Vonleh, on team-friendly deals.

The coaching and roster changes promise to add excitement to the upcoming season. However, most analysts believe the Knicks are still a year or two away from returning to their previous form as perennial playoff contenders, as star Kristaps Porzingis is expected to miss most of the season while he recovers from a knee injury.
